Honor Council Minutes

Members Present: Callie Lytton (’03), Sharon Burdick (’03), Evelyn Miles (’03), Carrie
Black (’03), Miriam Achtenberg (Co-Sec), Liz Bacon (Co-Sec), Brooks Bond-Watts

II.
Introductions: Name, Class, Major, ‘If the D.C. catered
your wedding what food would you choose?’
III.
Miriam and Jon volunteered to be the HC
liaisons to JSAAPP. They
will maintain the bridge between JSAAPP and HC for the semester.
IV.
Carrie decided to let someone else have a chance
to head the Community Outreach Committee (Thanks to her for a great
semester!). Laura Scorr
volunteered to serve as the new chair of
Community Outreach. Six other members will serve on this committee:
Liz, Sam, Brooks, Miriam, Elif, Callie.
Community Outreach is opened to all students. If you are interested in becoming a committee member or want
to share your ideas contact (Lscorr).
V.
Evelyn will continue to serve as the chair of the Faculty
Outreach Committee. Six other
member will serve on this committee: Jesse, Jon, Ben, Sharon, Carrie,
Anirudh. If you are interested in
becoming a committee member or want to share your ideas contact (Emiles).
VI.
The Honor
Council Retreat will be held this Saturday and Sunday (Feb 8-9) at a
nearby meeting house. We look forward
to good food, a mock trial, diversity training, consensus training, and overall
bonding time. We are contacting Louise Tritton to see if she will again be able
to run consensus training, and Ari Worthman ‘02, Jesse Littlewood (sorely
missed council member), and perhaps our dedicated Dean JT, to see if one of them
can lead our diversity training.
VII. As an ongoing effort to increase faculty
awareness of the Honor Code, HC
has reinvigorated its New
Faculty Buddy Program. New
Faculty members this semester will be paired up with an HC Buddy to increase
faculty awareness and understanding of the Code.
