Correction to last week's minutes: the meeting was held in the Pendle Hill Room, not the Swarthmore Room.

II.       Business

§       Steve asked the group for feedback on the consensus workshop that Louise Tritton led the weekend before.  Jesse said that while he thought that the workshop was necessary and that he liked parts of it, he believed it could be more beneficial for Honor Council if it were better suited to council's use of consensus.  Some members said they would email Dean Tolliver their feedback so that he and Mrs. Tritton could design a more effective consensus workshop.

§       Miriam said that she was working on a ³buddy system² in which each Honor Council member would get paired with a new faculty member and would act as that professor's resource for questions or concerns about the Honor Code.

§       Steve and Mary brought up a conference on ethics and honor codes held at West Point to which two members of Haverford's Honor Council were invited to attend.  The conference takes place in November, and at this point no one has committed to attending it.  They also mentioned a shorter, similar conference happening in late October at UPenn, of which several people expressed interest in attending.

§       Dave and Liz took pictures of all the Honor Council members, to be placed on the Honor Council poster in the campus center.  There was much ballyhoo had by all.

§       If any community members want to be on either the faculty outreach or community outreach committee, they should email Evelyn (emiles@hc) for faculty or Carrie (cblack@hc) for community.

IV.           Moment of Silence

The views expressed in these minutes are those of Honor Council co-secretaries Khanh Le and Dan Lenehan, and not necessarily those of Haverford College.  I'm too tired to come up with anything funny to write.  If you are still reading this, you need to find better things to do with your time.
