Simon Linn-Gerstein was born in 1987 in Ann Arbor, MI, where spent most of his growing up. Simon now attends Haverford College in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where he is majoring in Music, though he is also pursuing his interests in French and Anthropology. His knowledge of French stems in part from a brief period spent at the école maternelle (public preschool) in Paris. His interest in Anthropology might be influenced by similar experiences as well.
In addition to studying music at Haverford from an academic standpoint,
Simon plays the cello and takes lessons from Michal Schmidt.
He is currently principal cellist of the Bi-College Orchestra and has
participated in several chamber music groups. Simon's interest and
experience spans a wide range of music history, from the standard
repertory to studying baroque performance practice to discovering new
works by contemporary composers. To view the old homepage, click here. Simon Linn-Gerstein, October 2007
